Luna Terra - Necklace

Part of my Luna Terra Collection, this statement piece combines natural wood with recycled sterling silver, brought together by hand in a process that honours both the materials and the wearer.
 
There is a quiet beauty in the meeting of these two natural elements — the warmth of wood alongside the coolness of silver, the soft matte grain against a gently reflective surface. Their differences in texture, tone, and light create a subtle interplay that draws the eye without overwhelming, allowing each material to enhance the other.
 
Together, they form a balanced whole: grounding yet luminous, tactile yet refined. The result is jewellery that feels both elemental and considered — something to be worn, touched, and lived with.
 
Over time, each piece develops a subtle patina, becoming more personal with wear while continuing to feel natural, balanced, and enduring.
 
It measures approx 70mm in total top to bottom and approximately 60mm across. The silver disc is 25mm round. It weighs approximately 14.5g - the waxed cotton cord is adjustable from approximately 15" to 20" to the top of the pendant so it can be worn with different necklines.
 
Everything about them is sustainable and kind to the wearer:
 
I colour the wood slowly with a water-based stain, allowing the natural grain to remain visible and alive. It is then sealed with a blend of plant-derived oils and waxes, applied in fine layers and gently worked into the surface. Rather than creating a coating, this finish becomes part of the wood itself — leaving it breathable, smooth, and warm to the touch.
 
There is no synthetic shine, only a quiet, natural sheen that emerges with handling. Each piece is allowed to fully cure before it is worn, so the surface feels clean and settled against the skin, with no residue or transfer. This helps protect both skin and clothing, while remaining comfortable for everyday wear.
 
The recycled sterling silver elements are individually formed and finished by hand. Silver has long been valued for its purity and clarity, bringing a sense of brightness and balance in contrast to the softness of the wood.
 
The piece is completed with a cotton cord, waxed by hand using natural wax. This gives a soft, matte finish and a smooth, comfortable feel against the skin, while allowing the necklace to be adjusted with ease.
 
The colour and grain of the wood may vary slightly as it is a natural material.
