I'm 69 —
and I'm
not finished.

A lifetime of changing direction, following curiosity, and discovering that becoming yourself doesn't stop at a particular age.

BIOGRAPHY

A life that didn't follow a straight line.

Penny Albertella working on her laptop

Twenty-five years as a hypnotherapist, working with many hundreds of clients. Before that, teaching, training, organisational development and executive coaching — self-employed for over thirty years in all — that carried her into leadership work across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She is a former Chartered Fellow of the CIPD.

She had been bringing NLP into her business work, and took her hypnotherapy qualifications simply out of interest. Then, while running a leadership programme in Geneva, she sat on the shore of Lake Geneva and decided to do it professionally — and to hang up her travelling boots.

The pattern repeated. Penny had made jewellery for 25 years before setting up her business seven years ago. Last year, when an operation on one hand meant she couldn't make jewellery for a while, she turned a lifelong interest in astrology into formal qualifications, and a third business.

Each shift followed the same instinct: stay curious, keep learning, see what's still possible. Along the way she has been the main breadwinner for most of her adult life, a mother of two, and a grandmother of three — and, at 69, she is not remotely finished.

Penny Albertella, Dip Hyp, MIAEBP, is a clinical and analytical hypnotherapist, jeweller and spiritual astrologer based in Devon. Her life has not followed a straight line. She has worked for herself for over 30 years, starting in teaching, training, organisational development and executive coaching, which led to leadership work across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. A former Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, she has been a hypnotherapist for 25 years, working with many hundreds of clients.

Jewellery and astrology followed the same pattern: lifelong interests that became businesses, the first seven years ago and the second last year, when a hand operation meant she couldn't make jewellery for a while and she took formal astrology qualifications instead.

A mother of two, grandmother of three and the main breadwinner for most of her adult life, Penny created ReBecoming at 69. It is a six-session hypnotherapy programme for women navigating changing identity, loss, possibility and the question of who they are still becoming. She also offers programmes for hypnobirthing and anxiety.

Penny Albertella, Dip Hyp, MIAEBP, is a clinical and analytical hypnotherapist, jeweller and spiritual astrologer based in Devon. At 69, her message is simple: becoming yourself doesn't stop at a particular age.

Her career has never followed a straight line. She has worked for herself for over 30 years, beginning in teaching and training, then organisational development and executive coaching, which carried her into leadership work across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. A former Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, she had been using NLP in her business work and took her hypnotherapy qualifications out of interest. While running a leadership programme in Geneva, sitting on the shore of Lake Geneva, she decided to do it professionally and to hang up her travelling boots. She has been a hypnotherapist for 25 years, working with many hundreds of clients.

The pattern repeated. Penny had made jewellery for 25 years before setting up her business seven years ago, at 62. Last year, when an operation on one hand meant she couldn't make jewellery for a while, she turned a lifelong interest in astrology into formal qualifications and a second business. Each shift followed the same instinct: stay curious, keep learning, see what's still possible.

A mother of two, grandmother of three, and the main breadwinner for most of her adult life, she brings both her clinical experience and her own life to ReBecoming, a six-session hypnotherapy programme for women navigating changing identity, loss, possibility and the question of who they are still becoming. Hypnosis works with the subconscious as well as the conscious mind, reaching the places where willpower and positive thinking often can't. Penny is also clear about the pressure many women feel from a society that expects them to stay young in order to stay relevant, and about the relief of putting that pressure down.

Her other programmes include a hypnobirthing course for calm, confident births and a programme for everyday anxiety, Anxiety to Calm.

Three different paths.  One Underlying Thread.

Jewellery, astrology and hypnotherapy might sound like separate things. For Penny they have always been part of the same thread: meaning, healing, transformation, and the belief that the things we create and the work we do can touch people in ways that matter.
